Microsoft Surface - Minority Report Goes Commercial

Code name Milan, Microsoft has come out with a 30″ interactive desktop, the Microsoft Surface. Priced at $5000-$10000, this looks like an awesome toy. The thing that popped up in my mind was, was Microsoft the one that came up with this first?

Jeff Han of New York Uninversity presented something like this a few years back. Check out this youtube clip. Is Microsoft bitting of the idea or are they improving on it?

Google Announces Street View

Google announced on Tuesday their new Close-Up view, at the Where 2.0 conference. This Close-up view can be found on Google Maps, labeled as Street View. I thought the satellite view was pretty crazy but now you got street views. Right now it is limited to parts of: San Francisco, Vegas, Miami and New York. Give it a try, its pretty jaw dropping technology.

This new feature allows users to virtually walk down the street without getting out of your chair. Who needs exercise now?

Just imagine when Google starts putting ads on these maps. The world of virtual billboards and highlighted store fronts will be opened. It has been said that you will even be able to go inside a store soon–meaning you can go into a store front from your PC.

Sprint Firmware Updates

I have been getting a lot of hits in the last few days from search strings looking for firmware updates for different Sprint products–specifically the the Pantech PX-500 and the Linksys Wireless G Router for Broadband (WRT54G3G-ST). Though I am not in anyway affiliated with Sprint, I’d though I post a link to their download page, to help you all out.

All downloads can be found here or simply going to http://www.sprint.com/downloads.

* Note: they have also added Windows Vista support

Here are the new connection managers for Windows XP.

eBay Scams - eBayers beware

Happy Tuesday everyone. I hope everyone had great Memorial Day weekend.

I have been doing a lot of ebaying and online purchase that last few weeks–it the cheapest way to get many things. Though you can save a lot of money by doing so, you must beware of the fine print.

Check this episode of Judge Judy. It basically shows a scam where the seller puts up a picture for sale, representing it as an actual product. I have personally seen a lot of these auctions like this as well as the sale of lists of where to get things rather then the real product.

What do you guys think?
