Apple MacMini - My New Desktop

Just as my title says, here is my new Toy–it’s the new 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo MacMini!
First things first, the specs:
* 512MB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2×256
* 80GB Serial ATA drive
* SuperDrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
* Mac OS X - U.S. English
* Intel GMA 950 graphics
* Accessory kit
First impressions:
I haven’t used the Apple Operating System (OS) in many years, it will be an interesting ride. The OS is like day and night compared to the Microsoft OS. OSX was very easy to pick up. The only real problem I ran into was hooking up my Logitec Wireless keyboard and mouse. It connected perfectly, but I was having a hard time getting use to not being able to use the “Ctrl” and “Start” key as the OSX does not recognize these buttons.
Initial Upgrades:
First thing after purchasing this computer, I noticed that the system was a little slow when running multiple programs. This was due to the measly 512K Mbs of RAM. So right away, I made a trip to Fry’s Electronics in Palo Alto to pick up my 2 sticks of 1Gb pc5300 sticks. The damage was only $106 ($53 each stick), which was way cheaper than purchasing it at the Apple Store ($75 for the 1Gb upgrade and they take the 512Mbs sticks).
I also made a trip to Sears to pick up a new putty knife. With a little bit of sandpaper, to thin out the end of the putty knife, I was able to open my MacMini and install the 2Gbs that it thrived for. All I can say is MUCH BETTER!
Because of my new toy, be sure that when I find new products for it and as I learn the OSX OS, I will keep all my readers informed of what I find.
